One example is the Eskimos of East Greenland. Instead of fighting, they require that hostile individuals sing to one another! They sing about their grievances until it becomes apparent where the sympathy of the community lies, and the loser retires. Social Scientists have found that war is not universal. War is one option that some groups choose for settling disagreements, but not all societies offer this option.
