One great way of changing the way you think is to be engaged in wishing people kindness. Take a few minutes right now and sit in a comfortable place with your eyes closed. Watch your breath for 2 minutes. Now picture someone you would like to send kind wishes to and gently say to yourself - I wish you love, I wish you kindness, I wish you happiness. Repeat the sayings slowly and gently for about 5 more times. Now picture another person and repeat the same steps. Just before you are done picture yourself and recite the same statements. Doing this everyday will start to shift your focus to loving kindness and that WILL make you feel better because you are generating Optimistic thoughts that you believe to be true - that is I am a kind and loving person.
