One of my favourite teacher In my 2nd year at the Law Faculty, I spectacularly failed my Land Law. I was summoned to see my lecturer. + You did real bad Azhar. Its like you were not in interested at all. - Yes Ms Khaw. + May I know why you failed like that? - Err...I did not study at all. + Fooh... what a relief. You deserve it! Had you studied and you failed then it would be a difficult case to remedy. In your case, what is the remedy? - The remedy is... well, I have to study. + Good. Go and study now. - Thank you. + Hold on. I seldom saw you in my lectures. I got the feeling that you didnt like my lectures. - No, I didnt. + Why? - Because your lectures were not good. And they were boring. Plus they were at 8 am! + Ya. I know. I am sorry. Its my first year teaching land law. Ok. Go and study. After my referral paper, she called me and congratulated me. Had you studied earlier, you would have gotten an A. But since you had to refer, you can only get a Pass. Its okay Ms Khaw. I deserve that. When I was doing my Masters, she was finishing her PhD. She used to come to my flat on weekend and had frozen roti canai together. She rose to be the Dean later and now she is one of SUHAKAM Commissioner. I call her a friend nowadays. Thank you Ms Khaw. You taught me and all of your students, well.
