One of my friends Ive had longest in my life, never lost touch since we first met, is in CCU in a hospital in Huntington, having been in a coma for three days now. He is sick, like me. If it isnt one of us, its both of us. We are fighters - tooth and nail. Both hard core survivors, through the thick and thin of it. Only he is a Black Corsair Pirate, and Im a Gypsy. He is no longer a cabin boy, he is truly the Captain, as hard as it may be to believe. We met when we were nothing more than pups, kids learning the art of creating ourselves. We became fast friends, as originals often do. Blessings to one another, always brutal with our truths, swift with apologies, and we always keep our promises to each other. We have fostered a love that can be expressed as friends who grew up along side one another in the SCA. I pray for you with all of my heart & soul tonight Matthew Maynard, may you do what you must brother. I will always love & understand, come what may. I ask that my friends, family, & their friends & family do the same for my dear sweet Matthew.
