One of my weaknesses is eating a crunchy salty treat. I think we are all stricken with this craving every now and again. So what do you do? succumb and try to let portion control help you stay on track? Thats one way but sticking to just a very few chips can be a challenge. My solution is popcorn!! For a long time I ate Microwave popcorn, nature unbuttered of course but sadly one day while researching food I found out a dirty little secret about microwave popcorn. Well actually the bags they come it. As it turns out they are lined with a chemical PFUA... PerFloruooxianic or something like that... Basically CRAP that the FDA has stated is LIKEILY TO CAUSE CANCER!! So why is it still in my bag of popcorn? IDK but it means I cant eat it :( SO whats a health minded guy to do? Go back to Organic Blue Corn Chips? Air Pop? I have an air popper and frankly the final product taste like cardboard to me. So I searched around and found a solution. Come to find out theres really nothing special about those bags that lets the popcorn do its thing in the microwave except maybe they expand allowing steam out. You can actually just put your favorite popcorn kernels into a big microwave safe glass bowl add some REAL butter or olive oil or coconut oil and healthy Himalayan salt and cover with a vented microwave safe top!! Can you believe that!! no chemicals, no fuss... just delicious and nutritious popcorn!! Heres the article if you want to read more. theyummylife/homemade_microwave_popcorn Anybody here have a popcorn trick to share?
