One of post-apartheid most enduring changes is what is happening in Opera music today in South Africa. This is no other than the emergence of budding and extremely talented black singers with some clinching the most lucrative contracts overseas. Other than the drips and drops and here and there, isnt it amazing that no significant articles in the mainstream media houses has been dedicated to this phenomenon, atleast i havent seen them. But as they say, it is seldom that you will ever be made famous by people outside your community atleast not with the same viguor. if black writers themselves dont write about black excellence, no one ever will. Give soccer a Mark Fish i can bet we will talk about such a boy so much, it will be in your face everyday, TV, newspapers and internet.
