One of the biggest problems in the world today.... were raising a generation of dependent wimps. I saw this first hand in my days as a camp counselor and did everything I could to show my kids they were capable of anything and if its hard to get through it feels that much better once you do. Whether it be overcoming a fear or trying a new task, or just having the confidence to brush off negative words from others because you love yourself, self reliance is the greatest gift you can give someone.
