One of the highlights of my day was going to visit Ann Allen-Weatherly this morning. She was one of my teachers in high school and truly changed my life. When my high school counselor told me that a major university would never accept someone like me, Mrs. Allen disagreed and urged me to dream big. She is one of the reasons why I had my MBA by age 24. To all of my teacher friends, I know that your profession is discouraging at times and you wonder why you even do it, but stories like mine is why you continue to teach and believe in good. You are changing lives regardless if you know it or not.
