One of the most important actions Americans and former illegal immigrants could organize in Mexico and Central America is a mass campaign to re-educate the people and dispel their belief in the United States as a capitalist heaven or sacred center - Rome of the 21st century. I have met an activist who worked for many migrant shelters, who agrees, and says this approach is already part of some materials given to migrants. Part two of this action should be re-education towards local community, alternative economy, to strip away the notion the poor or marginalized live under (the poor in Honduras for example or among the indigenous of Mexico).
