One of the questions we get asked the most is, you train horses, what do you do just get on them and ride the buck out. The answer is no, its much different than that we spend a lot of time doing ground work before we ever get on them, we get the horses respect. From that statement there is usually another question Respect? What are you talking about? We show the horse how to be a willing partner in the relationship. How do you get a horses respect? We do it the same way that the leader of the herd does we make them move, and move in the direction and when we ask them to. Horses understand herd dynamics there is always a number 1 horse he is usually the biggest strongest fastest and healthiest. We as humans have to present these traits as well. I know you are say there is no way I am going to be stronger than a horse. In truth that is correct physically we are not stronger than these 1000 pound animals. The secret here is they dont know that. They still think a walmart brand plastic bag is going to eat them. Present your self to your horse as though you are strong and he will believe you. Put your poker face on so to say.
