One of the really nice things about growing up in Southern - TopicsExpress

One of the really nice things about growing up in Southern California in the 60s and 70s was all the incredible music. I had the opportunity to see The Eagles at the Bridges Auditorium on the Claremont College campus in 1973, where they opened for The J. Geils Band. The Bridges Auditorium is a beautiful and very intimate 2500-seat venue built in 1931. Haling from L.A., The Eagles were one of the best live acts I have ever seen, as this video testifies! Their vocal harmonies are as good as anyones (Check out the live New Kid in Town). Hotel California is a classic 70s rock anthem written by Don Felder about the L.A experience, and in particular, its excesses. The weaving guitar solos between Felder and L.A.s definitive madman, Joe Walsh, are just outstanding! Enjoy!!!
