One thing that I like about Facebook is the ability to connect with people in the community that makes an active change happen through the internet and with real life action. Social networking allows for individuals to share information, find people with similar interests, express themselves and provide outlets for actually doing something. Often times people already know others within the community circles, but before platforms like Facebook there were less opportunities to interact. Considering that people can only be at certain places at certain times, social media offers more ability to be aware of things that may be beyond physical limitations yet provide opportunities for contact and involvement. People can become conduits for information and bring others together in mutually beneficial ways and sometimes we get to know others before even meeting in person. To me it is about reaching out to people in South Florida who are active, creative, multi-cultural, conscious and politically aware. I am not looking for a Friend Collection, I want to connect with people who are doing positive things in our community, so we can achieve positive results and make the situation better for those who live here. Life is a group project and I like to meet more people who can make a difference. Lets enjoy the ride together, we can have some fun along the way!
