One thing that caught my attention: When novels/short stories - TopicsExpress

One thing that caught my attention: When novels/short stories are put into films, why is it that alterations seem to be inevetible? They say, it happens because film- makers would love to convey a crafty/creative interpretation of the literary pieces. But ALTERATION is different from INTERPRETATION. What about the millions of young minds who have seen Medusa in sunglasses? What about those people who believed that Walter Mitty succeeded because of daydreaming, without them, knowing the sense of entitling the story as The SECRET Life of Walter Mitty? This kind of scenario brought about by the film industry is definitely not for the glory of art or craftmanship. Ill hang myself if Im wrong. It has always been about their MARKET. Whats cool for many? Screw the arts in literature, they need income. COMMERCIALISM IN LITERATURE chic lit turned into SUPRAchic movies: saddening reality :(
