Operation Protective Edge Day 12: At least six Israeli soldiers were injured in overnight fighting as the first day of Israels ground incursion into Gaza drew to a close. Shortly after midnight three soldiers were wounded, one seriously and two lightly, by terrorist fire in the northern Gazas neighborhood of Beit Hanoun. Hamas and Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility for the shooting. Three more soldiers were lightly injured, apparently by anti-tank missile near the border. Latest Developments: 07:39 GMT: Hamas military wing reports of an infiltration into Israels territory from Gaza. According to the report, Israeli forces opened fire at the terrorists in the area of Eshkol Regional Council. A senior military source said Saturday Hamas will probably try and increase its terror attacks attempts inside Israel in light of the pressure it is under. 07:27 GMT: Egypt has raised the state of alert on the Sinai-Gaza border, London-based Arab newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat reported on Saturday. Medics say the latest strike killed 28-year-old Raed al-Laqan. (AFP) 19/7 01:00 Three Palestinians were killed in three separate strikes in Beit Hanun in the north, Deir al-Balah in central Gaza, and another in Khan Yunis, according to Palestinian medical sources. It was not clear if the dead were militants or civilians.
