Opposing the Terrorists of the Southern Ocean We Need to stop Japanese Eco-Terrorists from Destroying Whales in the Southern Ocean In December 2015 the Japanese whaling fleet will unlawfully return to the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary where they will attempt to commit acts of ecological terror on the sentient self-aware socially complex society of whales. They intend to murder whales in violation of international law and human decency. Condemned as poachers in 2008 by the Australian Federal Court they have operated in contempt of the Australian Federal Court every year since. In 2014 they were further found by the International Court of Justice in the Hague to have been whaling unlawfully since 1987 under the fraudulent guise of scientific whaling. No longer can the government of Japan continue to complain about unlawful interference now that their activities have been judged unlawful. The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society has been vindicated. Sea Shepherd has been acting accordance with the United Nations World Charter for Nature in opposing a criminal activity namely the poaching of whales in the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary by the Institute for Cetacean Research, a Japanese government owned operation that has been illegally killing whales and selling whale meat for decades. Despite the verdict declaring their activities unlawful, the Japanese whalers intend to return and now have issued a threat against Sea Shepherd. Yoshimasa Hayashi the minister of agriculture, forestry and fisheries made the following statement: As for unlawful acts of violence committed by anti-whaling organizations, we will study counter-measures in line with a new research program from the standpoint of ensuring the safety of the research fleet, researchers and crew members, he said. Sea Shepherd’s Response: “As for unlawful acts of violence committed by the outlaw whalers, Sea Shepherd will study counter-measures in line with a new Whale Sanctuary enforcement program from the standpoint of ensuring the safety of the Sea Shepherd ships, crew members and the whales. It is called the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary and the International Court of Justice and the Australian Federal Court have both ruled that the Japanese whaling fleet is unlawful so just what is it that these outlaw whalers don’t understand and why do they feel they have any right to threaten non-violent conservationists trying to intervene against their criminal poaching activities. They are violently demonstrating their complete contempt for the rule of law, for international law and for the International Court of Justice and that makes the ICR a terrorist organization. https://facebook/photo.php?fbid=10152333325195932&set=pcb.10152333325795932&type=1&theater
