Oreo Cookies Adventure Walk: Hi, Kona Mason and Nellie! - TopicsExpress

Oreo Cookies Adventure Walk: Hi, Kona Mason and Nellie! Thank you for springing so many pups out of the shelter this spring! You guys are some seriously cool pups. Because of your kind donation this time around, Oreo Cookie of RACC fame was able to go out for a really fun adventure at Bryan Park. Cookie is an amazingly sweet and social 3 year old pitty with a smile that will make you go weak in the knees and and a love for all humans and dogs alike. This girl really made the most of her adventure, and had the best time in the world, all thanks to your generosity. I was having my usual trouble trying to pick just one dog from the many wonderful pups at RACC. I went to say hello to one pup, and through a door I saw Cookie happily watching the kennel tech clean her run from the holding spot. She turned around and flashed me the most inviting smile Ive ever seen. She was so full of joy and looked like she knew how to party, so I leashed her up and we headed out! We met up with another handler and one of our adventurers, Mike, to begin hiking. Cookie and Mike hit it off like old pals, and were just wonderful together the entire hike. Its easy to see that Cookie loves dogs, but she is also extremely well behaved while playing. She matched Mikes temperament and they went right into fun games of chase and wrestling, without ever getting too rough. She respected when Mike needed to take a break, and knew to take breaks on her own. They ended up romping around for most of the hike, and Cookie couldnt have been happier. Cookie surprised me by diving right into the water! No fear! She knew that the shallow water would just make romping around with her buddy that much more fun. She politely shared a stick they found as well, which was really impressive. We hiked on, and I leash-harnessed Cookie, which is a similar sensation to an Easy Walk Harness. This worked wonders on Cookie, and she enjoyed her hike without pulling. We made it up to the field where Cookie and Mike flirted a little and they soaked up some sun and dried their coats. Hiking further, we found ourselves at the stairs waterfall, and Cookie was so tired from the big hike that she plopped right down! Shes got a great sense of humor, and had us all laughing! Cookie proved herself to be an amazing dog, very well deserving of a loving forever home. She is a kind and loving pup that is also independent and respectful. She greets people by sitting down and waiting automatically, which impressed me so much. She greets dogs with wags and smooches, so she will be a great companion to another dog or just a loving guardian. She is quite the squirrel hunter though, so a cat test is a must! Cookie had so much fun on the hike that you provided for her. She so needed to get some fresh air and stretch her legs, and she wouldnt have gotten that without you. Thank you so much for getting this amazing girl that much closer to finding a loving home. Oreo is available with Richmond Animal Care and Control.
