Other parents are going to be just as astounded as me, to learn that primary school teachers teach the children the sound of the alphabet to END words :-( NOT to START them! This is not intentional its just their idiotic training and lack of common sense :-( They decided to do away with the u sound after the letter so your childs alphabet could be :- ah, bu, su (cu) ,du eh, if, ju (gu), hu, i, ju, ku, ul, um, in, o, ip, qu, er, es, tu, u, iv, wu, ex, yi, izz. If the child has been taught the silent e - they may say the letters of the vowels instead of the sounds :-( They may also have been taught c can = s and g can = j :-( Dyslexia = Poor Teaching!! Make sure your child knows how to START words with :- ah, bu, cu, du, eh, fu, gu, hu i (it,is,ink etc) ju, ku, lu, mu, nu, o (on,otter,orange etc) pu, qu, ru, su, tu, uh, vu, wu, ex, yu, zu. You have the Summer holidays to overwrite this nonsense with your child by repetition and teaching the original sound of the vowels. Inconceivable and unbelievable I know, but this is why your child may choose to read words like no backwards as on :-( Test your child on this first stage if they are a poor reader. xxx
