Our International Restaurant Group is seeking an Accountant to join our growing New York team. The Senior Accountant position is the foundation of our companys financial career path. This person is responsible for daily, weekly and monthly accounting functions. Some examples of this include but are not limited to: · Ensuring store D.S.R. (Daily Sales Reports) are complete and processed, Booking journal entries and accruals · Processing state sales tax returns, etc. · This person would also be in charge of coding overhead payables. Above all, this position is responsible for providing management with timely and accurate financial information by researching, analyzing and offering value added guidance in accordance with GAAP principles, standards, and conventions. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Perform assigned statement close duties at EOM and FYE • Analyze and review GM controllable & non-controllable expenses to ensure accuracy and completeness • Perform weekly review of expense accounts • Reconcile balance sheet accounts • Prepare and file monthly state sales tax returns • Code or process personal expense reports (T&Es) for assigned stores • Assist with the review and approval of store DSRs • Respond to credit card retrieval requests and work to reduce chargebacks • Assist accounting supervisor/manager with NSO (new store openings) • Complete census reporting for assigned region and stores • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties and special projects as assigned JOB SPECIFICATIONS: Education- • 4 Year Degree in Accounting required. Experience- • Minimum of 2 years prior accounting experience as a staff accountant or above Skills/Knowledge/Abilities- • Working knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office with a strong emphasis in Excel • Knowledge of accounting software - Great Plains (strong plus) • Knowledge of European accounting rules + VAT experience is required • Ability to work both independently and as a part of a team • Exhibit analytical strength, logical thinking, and multitasking • Strong organization and attention to detail • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Provide excellent customer service and demonstrate a positive attitude • Maintain a regular and reliable level of attendance To apply: Contact Evelyne Genest, [email protected]
