Our Middle School Chinese language students have been studying the Forbidden City, China - its history, architecture, arts and culture, etc. The study concluded with a field trip to VMFA Virginia Museum of Fine Arts for 5th and 6th Grade students today, to tour the exhibition “The Forbidden City: Imperial Treasures from the Palace Museum, Beijing.” Seventh and 8th Grade Chinese language students will visit the exhibit next week. We are fortunate to see these priceless works of art and monuments to history that have never before been seen outside of China, says Mei Dong, Collegiates Middle School Chinese teacher.
