MARCH 16 The Consulate General of Greece presents “A Greek Journey in the Windy City,” part of the Navy Pier “Windows of the World” celebration scheduled to take place on Sunday, March 16, 2014 from 12:00-3:00 pm at the Crystal Gardens, Navy Pier, Chicago. This event is a celebration of Chicago’s Greek American community. Please note the music program of this years event: The duration will be 45 minutes per hour, divided as follows: 12:00-13:00 a) 15 minutes Greek music only (participant to be announced) b) 15 minutes Cretan traditional dances in folklore costumes by the Cretan Federation c) 15 minutes presentation of Λαικών Χορών (syrtaki, hasaposerviko, hasapiko and zeibekiko ) by Orpheus Folklore Group. 13:15- 14:00 a) 15 minutes Pontian traditional dances in folklore costumes by the Pontian Society b) 15 minutes presentation of Λαϊκών Χορών as previously by Orhpeus Folklore Group c) 15 minutes Cretan traditional dances 14:15-15:00 a) 15 minutes Λαϊκοί χοροί by Orhpeus Folklore Group b) 15 minutes Pontian dances c) 15 minutes Orpheus Folklore Group folk music for audience to dance.
