Our editor Paula Froelich went to the Green Hill Valley elephant sanctuary yesterday - where they rescue elephants in Myanmar from conflict areas or logging camps (yes, elephants are still used in the logging industry here). She fed this guy... Then went swimming with him. Scrubbed his back and in return he gave her a lift home. PS: these elephants come to the sanctuary once a day for food, medical check ups and a scrub but spend the rest of their time free, roaming the forest. For some it is the first time in their lives theyve been able to roam free. For others, its the first time in 40-50 years.
