Our fifth DHS Hall of Fame Inductee is Doug Arnold...Friend/Benefactor: Doug is a very proud Davis Blue Devil and graduate of the class of 1965. While a student at DHS, Doug was President of his class, was named homecoming king, was a member of the football team, was a founding member of The Rear Ends car club and organized the school dances at his parent’s car dealership. After working as a police officer in San Francisco in the early 70′s, where he earned the Medal of Valor Award in 1973, Doug returned to Davis to join the family real estate business and has been giving back to the entire Davis community while being co-owner and President of Coldwell Banker Doug Arnold Real Estate. Doug has a long list of contributions and accolades to the Davis Community and Davis High School. He has served on many local boards, including serving as the Chairman of the Davis Chamber of Commerce, the Davis Rotary Club, Yolo County Housing Authority, Families First Foster Santa, Yolo County Association of Realtor’s Education and Professional Standards Committee. His awards include 1977 Realtor of the Year, 1991 Davis’ Honorary Mayor and the C.A. Covell Award as 1994 Citizen of the Year for outstanding service to the city of Davis. For many years, Doug and his wife, Marti, drove the DHS cheerleaders to football games in his Winnebago. He was always generous with his time and resources in helping DHS students. Over the years, Doug has planned and hosted several of the DHS class of ’65 reunions. Doug, along with Coldwell Banker Doug Arnold Real Estate, has donated over one million dollars back to the Davis community over the years, including the Davis Schools Foundation, Davis High School Blue and White Foundation and to the Friends of Allied Non-Profits, which serves the mental health needs of Yolo County. Among the recipients of Doug’s generosity to DHS has been numerous sports teams and clubs. His donation to the BWF was instrumental in the renovation of the Ron and Mary Brown Stadium at DHS.
