Our letter delivered today to Governor Jan Brewer to urge support for uberX in Arizona and HB 2262. Please share to show your support for Uber. _______________ Governor Brewer – With the recent passage of HB 2262 through the Arizona Senate and House, I am writing to request your support of Uber and this bill. Arizona has always been a state where innovation and entrepreneurship thrive, and your signature of HB 2262 will reinforce that vision while providing the highest level of safety for riders, drivers and the general public. I know HB 2262 sits on your desk for signature, and I hope you will recognize the progress Uber and state stakeholders have made over the last 101 days to support innovation, public safety, and economic opportunity. This includes: - $1M per incident primary commercial insurance policy during trips - Strict background checks with clear violations listed in statute - Registration with Weights & Measures to assure TNC oversight rests with the State Ridesharing technology is in its infancy, but this technology is one of the most popular innovations the public has seen in the last decade. Uber, and myself, are proud of what HB 2262 accomplishes - economic opportunity for drivers, consumer choice for riders, and safety for the general public. Arizona wants Uber, and we want to be in Arizona – that’s evident in the votes from the Arizona Legislature and thousands of Uber petition signatures. I do hope you sign HB 2262 into legislation as it reflects fundamental truths I believe we are both supportive of - entrepreneurship, innovation and consumer choice. I also hope the two of us can find a time to discuss what HB 2262 means to this state in the near future, and I welcome ongoing discussions and meetings with state and government officials to ensure Uber continues to support Arizona’s vision of innovation and entrepreneurship.
