Our next DDMA spotlight is the fun, eclectic Cafe Alfresco. Owners Peter Kreuziger and Karl Riedl have been business partners for over 40 years! Cafe Alresco opened in 1995, and has been a partnering with Dunedin for 19 years. Café Alfresco, located on the corner of Main Street and the Pinellas Trail, won the majority of Dunedin’s “Restaurant Week 2014” top honors; including “Best Chef”, “Best Server”, and the coveted “Silver Plate Award”. Their passion for quality food combined with genuine hospitality makes it a go to dining destination in Dunedin. Every week they create 18-20 unique special dishes, at lunch and at dinner with 3-5 every Friday and Saturday night. This is in addition to an already eclectic menu with meals inspired from as far away as India, southeast Asia, & Italy, to American cuisine from New England, the Midwest, & right here in Florida. Dunedin has been and continues to be a community that they are so grateful to be a part of. Many times they joke with their friends and guests that Dunedin is a “21st Century Mayberry”. Knowing that not only their business, but all the businesses are locally owned makes a tremendous difference to the spirit of the community. We are fortunate that in our “neck of the woods” we don’t have competitors with other restaurants, we have collaborators. As an example, our next door neighbor “Fancy Nancy’s” willingly opens her doors to allow our guests a cool space to wait for a table during the hotter months. This partnership not only allows our guests a greater degree of comfort but gives Nancy a greater exposure for clientele. 344 Main St and Pinellas Trail Dunedin, Florida (727) 736-4299
