Our next Workshop is with my favorite teacher in Atlanta. SCENE STUDY FOR THE WORKING ACTOR With CLAYTON LANDEY Clayton teaches this class at The Alliance Theatre. The work is designed so that you ask the right (appropriate questions) to bring you to the focused point of being alive and in the moment, feeling and thinking as that character. The real question is NEVER how to play it. The real question is how to BE it. Participants will choose a partner from the Workshop list and prepare a scene of their choosing for the Workshop. Clayton has been a professional performer, actor, director, producer, writer and teacher for over 40 years with over 300 credits as an actor. Current and upcoming: The Sunday Horse (supporting), Recurring Guest Star on If Loving You Is Wrong (new series from Tyler Perry), 3 National Commercials - Xarelto, Joe’s Crab Shack, (NDA signed for most recent), 3rd year as The Gulf Power Energy Coach, Storefront Church at Theatrical Outfit. His film work has been represented at the Cannes (She’s So Lovely), Venice (The Reluctant Fundamentalist) and Sundance (Shadow Hours) Film Festivals. Norma Rae, Clayton’s first feature, was named in 2011 to The Library of Congress National Film Registry. Favorites include Fatal Beauty, Pump Up the Volume and The Cisco Kid.On Television he starred as Roger Barrow in the first season of 1st and Ten, the first scripted original half hour comedy series on HBO. He has had recurring roles in nine other TV series including 3 seasons on “Knots Landing” and 1 year on “Days of Our Lives”. He has appeared in over 40 theatrical productions in New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta and Dallas. He received a Drama-Logue Award, an LA Weekly Award, a Maddy, a Garland Award and a Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle nomination for his performance as Luther Adler in the World Premier of Names in Los Angeles and recreated the role the following season in the Off-Broadway production. He also received a Drama-Logue for producing the multi-award winning Andrea’s Got Two Boyfriends. His training includes a BA in Drama from the University of Houston and Masters Classes with Marlon Brando, Stella Adler and Darryl Hickman. Clayton is on the Board of the SAG-AFTRA Atlanta Local and serves as Chair of The Muriel Moore/Danny Nelson SAG-AFTRA Conservatory.
