Our next special exhibition, Deco Japan: Shaping Art and Culture, 1920-1945, opens Saturday, November 15. It features nearly 200 works of Japanese art in the deco style, highlighting the cultural, formal and social aspects of Japanese deco. Guest Curator Dr. Kendall Brown, professor of Japanese Art History at California State University, Long Beach, visited the museum this week and offered this brief overview of the exhibition.
