Our ordeal began mid morning on Thursday, November 20, 2014. Will was transported to the Uvalde Memorial Hospital emergency room. He was stabilized there before being transported. Our journey then lead us to the Metropolitan Methodist Hospital in San Antonio. Our first room was in M (Medical) ICU #21 which we stayed in one night. The nursing team that night was outstanding...Larry, Tyrone, and Kristine then Maddie and Omar. We then were moved to S (Surgical) ICU #17 where we stayed one night under the watchful eye of Lorenzo. He is an amazing nurse. On 11/22 we were moved to SICU 14...we are still there. Will has had numerous nurses, too many to name, caring for him while in this room. The RNs, Residency Nurses, Dialysis Nurses, and even the custodial staff has done everything possible to make our stay pleasant. Its been a roller coaster ride with several ups and downs. Its appears he is stabling out and improving daily. Today for lunch and supper there was REAL food on his tray. Great sign he is on the mend. The fights not over but at least he lived another day to fight. Its only by the Grace of God that he is alive today. He has fought hard and the doctors/nurses brought their A game each day. I watched a miracle unfold...I watch it unfold right before my eyes. Im still in awe of and grateful for the miraculous transformation. God has a plan for Will...Im looking forward to seeing His plan. God is absolutely, positively amazing. Praising God for all our many blessings.
