Our very own General Manager + Strategy Lead, Maria Redin, was quoted in the Guardian yesterday on how companies can align their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) with brand authenticity and maximize the impact + value of corporate philanthropy. “There are many reasons [a company may make a corporate donation]: a company may want to align its brand with a cause that its consumer cares about; a company may want to donate to a cause that is important to its employees; or a company may donate to a cause because it believes it can create a better social and business ecosystem. The key is to clearly understand why the donation is being made.” At GOOD/Corps, we believe corporate philanthropy is most effective when it is “broadly integrated” and “mission aligned.” Corporate philanthropy is broadly integrated when it focuses not only on cash, but on marshaling all of a company’s assets and core competencies, such as supply chains, distribution, operating infrastructure and marketing. Mission aligned means authentically aligning social impact with the company’s business goals. We partner with influential companies to do more than just donate, but create impactful programs and movements that feed back into their business success. - Liz Waldorf, Junior Producer, GOOD/Corps
