Over 300 prophecies fulfilled… For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. – Isaiah 9:6 (NIV) You know this verse was written over 700 years before the birth of Christ. This prophecy spoke of a person who would redeem Israel. A son would be given who would be compassionate as a counselor, yet all-powerful as God. He would reveal the everlasting Father and bring peace between this infinite being and His finite creation. When this verse was written, Israel was falling apart under Assyria, but God embedded into this decaying nation of Israel the promise of a Messiah, and He fulfilled that promise in Jesus Christ. When we feel like our lives are falling apart, God promises us hope in Jesus Christ. Jesus still reveals the Father to us in wonderful ways. We just have to ask… Lord, thank you for your wonderful GIFT, Jesus! The first and BEST Christmas present ever! As I was researching a little more, I rediscovered something that I had read before. Did you know that Jesus fulfilled over 300 Prophecies? 353 in fact – That’s Amazing! The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy (Revelation 19:10) Here is a brief video that I found as well.
