Over 70 agricultural organizations have requested an extension for the public comment period for the EPA Waters of the US regulations. EPA released the proposal in April, modifying the rules for what would come under the jurisdiction of the Clean Water Act. At that time, the agency implemented a 90-day comment period and a 45-day comment period on the accompanying interpretive rule linked to the exclusions for NRCS conservation practices. The ag groups asked for an extension for both comment periods.
