Over the July 4th weekend, 48 people were shot in Chicago and 11 people, all African Americans, died. The murder rate in Chicago is a disgrace, and the media hardly ever reports it. The latest FBI data shows that 75% of all murder victims in Chicago were black, and that in 2011, 91% of all black Americans were murdered by other blacks -- but again, the national media refuses to cover it. But the national media has gone out of its way to report the ongoing court trial of the Trayvon Martin killing by George Zimmerman -- because of the racial component of a white Hispanic killing a black. But the 11 dead in Chicago gets no coverage at all -- because it involved blacks killing blacks. The national media has turned into is a major cultural definer and contributor to racial divide in our country.
