Over the course of many readings three runes seemed to leap out of the bag more than others at the event, this shouldnt surprise me as each event seems to have its own runes that want to thrust themselves forward as people draw. The raid then gave us Jera, Dagax and Ing as the prominent runes. Ing is very much a rune of stored energy, gestation and sudden release, the seed rune of the first god to move among the early danes, in the time before Odin and Villi and Ve gave birth to the world we know. Ing can also be a rune of the true sacrifice, a willingness to die so that an evolution can occur... Jera as we know is the harvest, you reap that which you sow, the beginnings of our raid were sown with greed and gain, we harvested loss but escaped with our lives. Jera is the rune of a long cycle, everything comes back to you in the long game and everything changes slowly Dagax is also a cyclical rune, often seen as the counterpoint to Jera, realisations, actualisation, dawn and awakening, a short sharp change of your understanding the way the world works or your place within it. Many of us left the land of the Picts a little bit wiser for the journey. Certainly Eyvind has lost his unshakable faith in Odin and come to realise that even the all father had to gain the secret knowledge of the runes, the runes are our guide, but each of us has free will....
