Over the past four years, a stimulus-funded government broadband project known as EAGLE-Net has overbuilt on top of existing fiber-optic lines and neglected communities it once promised to reach. Now, with 96% of the $100 million grant already spent, the program has reached fewer than half of the schools, libraries, and rural areas that made up its original goal. This potential abuse of taxpayer dollars raises serious red flags, and I am continuing to push for answers.
