P0LLY MINE-- IRRESPONSIBLE AND UNACCOUNTABLE Murray Edwards, born in Regina, is President and owner of Edco Financial Holdings Ltd., a Calgary based merchant bank. He is a leading investor in, and a managing director and executive chairman of, numerous publicly traded companies including Canadian Natural Resources Limited, Ensign Energy Services Inc. and Magellan Aerospace Corporation. He is also a chairman and co-owner of the Calgary Flames Hockey Club. At the socially, manipulative and exploitative level of our society, Murray Edwards, is a member of the Canadian Council of Chief Executives and on the Board of Directors of the Banff Centre, the Canada West Foundation, and the C.D. Howe Institute, all groups known for their elitist, and inherited god given rights, and entitlement, attitudes towards the plundering of Canadas common wealth, including of course, through their conniving and contriving, any rights to resources and property, that the native population has legal unceded land claims to. In addition to these rather minor achievements, Edwards is also the owner of Imperial Metals, which owns Polley Mine and the soon to be opened Red Crest Mine. Another enterprise that is still in the planning, permitting and development stage, is a pipeline system and refinery, to accommodate the refining of bitumen on our coast, with David Black, the newspaper owner of Blacks Publishing, as the front man, Andrew Weaver, MLA, of the Green Party, as the provincial political opposition supporter, Murry Edwards, as the financier, and of course Christy Clark, as the cheerleader and supporter, for this nefarious group of exploiters. It must be noted by those that care at all about the environment, the environmental track record of the companies that Mr. Edwards heads, when generously stated, is abysmal, factually, is down right criminal. Polley Mine is the worst disaster the Canadian mining industry has ever experienced, and Canadian Natural resources spill and shipping records are in dispute as to which is greater. Murray Edwards and the companies that he owns and controls, have to date, not taken the responsibility, or been accountable for the damage done by his enterprises, neither physical and financial damages, to our lands, water, environment, wild life or peoples homes, businesss, sustenance and health. Irresponsible and unaccountable pillagers, pretty much sums up the caliber of this company that wants to exploit our provinces resources, environment, and legacy to our descendants chances for a future. I like to think that they deserve better than what Murray Edwards and his henchman will leave. Destruction, pollution, destitution, and hopelessness will be Edwards and companys legacy.
