PARENTS: You must watch this video! The speaker in this video is a PARENT of a child with dyslexia, as well as a member of the House of Representatives. This man has FOUGHT for all of your children who currently have dyslexia, but are not currently receiving appropriate instruction. He truly understands the struggles that you go through to get your child help because he had the same roadblocks that you have currently. The time has come that dyslexia is no longer a bad word and if you think your child has dyslexic tendencies, contact the school as soon as possible. Your children can not go another full year with inappropriate instruction. Athough the plan begins next school year, the time to plan is now, in conjunction, with ISBE. Not too mention, many teachers are trained currently in this district to teach kids with dyslexia, as well as diagnose students with dyslexia. Mary Cramm is a certified dyslexia tutor who parents are currently paying to provide appropriate instruction after school, weekends, and holidays. Parents--Kids with dyslexia have waited long enough. They need a multisensory approach to reading ASAP!
