PDP-Congress working on alliance in Kashmir SRINAGAR -- The Peoples Democratic Party and Congress are working together to form the next government in the region with the support of independent legislators and smaller regional parties. Sources within the PDP said the party has agreed to form a coalition with the Congress. Both the parties together have 40 seats in the house of 87, which will leave them four short of the magical figure of 44. The parties, sources said, have agreed to bring in two legislators each. Sources said Peoples Democratic Front supremo, Hakim Mohammad Yasin, Engineer Rashid, MY Tarigami and an independent from Ladakh are likely to be the part of new arrangement. Congresss state chief, Saif-ud-Din Soz said Thursday that Mufti Mohammad Sayeed should be allowed to lead a coalition government in the state with the support of other like-minded parties. The RSS-BJP leadership should also appreciate the sensitivity of this border state and not indulge in any kind of hose trading, giving priority to the parochial interest, A senior Congress leader said they are also planning to rope in Peoples Conference chairman, Sajjad Gani Lone, who has two seats and he too may be inducted into the new government. We will be a facilitating factor and not an impeding factor, Sajjad told ANI. He said his priority is to help form a government, We will help in whichever way possible, he said. The National Conference president and former chief minister Omar Abdullah Thursday met BJP president Amit Shah in Mumbai ahead of flying to London where he will meet his father. Source said Omar has been offered a cabinet berth or a deputy chief ministers post by the BJP
