PERFECT COMPLETION Then God saw everything that He had made, - TopicsExpress

PERFECT COMPLETION Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day. - Genesis 1:31 This was the seventh time that the Scripture records God seeing what He had made as good in the creation story. In the creation story, we see a God who works with time and in a process. From day one to six of the process of His creation, He did something each day and saw that it was good. Although He did not finish His creation until the sixth day, He recognised that whatever He did at each stage was good. Why? Because He works in a process and everything He does will all add up to the perfect completion of what He started. So the statement, God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good, which was the seventh time this was said in the creation story, actually indicates that God brings all He does to a perfect completion; seven representing Gods number of perfection. Moreover, the meaning of the root word translated good is actually perfect, so God saw all He had done and it was indeed perfect. The only thing that keeps God from perfecting and completing anything He begins in our lives is us. We have our own ideas of the perfect job, the perfect marriage and so on, so when God starts something in our lives, by the second day, we expect Him to be doing this or that or He must be doing what should be done on the sixth day on the second day. Too many times, we want to dictate to God. Thus, we interrupt the whole process and limit Him so that He cannot perfect what He started. Because Adam and Eve allowed the devil to influence their idea of what their nature must be, they lost the perfect nature in which God had created them. God perfects all He does. That is His nature. Only if we would allow Him to work within His appointed time and according to His plan, He will perfect everything He has started in our lives. He makes all things beautiful in its time. He causes all things to work together for our good according to His purpose, not our purpose. He is the Perfecter, not us. He can completely perfect the marriage you seek, the career, the education, the health and so on. Just stop dictating to Him and let Him be God. PRAYER: Oh Lord, may You perfect all that which concerns me!
