PF GOVERNMENT ABUSES OVER K500,000 TAX PAYERS’ MONEY TO FIGHT CHIEF CHITIMUKULU Over K500,000 government money has been abused in ailing dictator Michael Sata’s unjustified fight against the installation of Henry Kanyanta Sosala as the paramount Chief Chitimukulu of the Bemba people. Home affairs minister Dr. Ngosa Simbyakula told parliament yesterday that the money was spent in paying allowances and buying food and other logistics for the over 200 policemen who were stationed at the traditional leader’s palace in Mungwi district. Dr. Simbyakula, who is one of the few PF ministers who have remained with sanity in their heads, was at pains to answer the barrage of questions from MPs who wanted to know why government was spending huge sums of money to prevent a legally appointed chief. He however said the issue of traditional matters does not fall under his ministry but that of chiefs and traditional affairs headed by Tasintha founder professor Nkandu Luo. Ironically Nkandu Luo’s brother is the one whom Sata wanted to have installed contrary to the Bemba tradition because Luo is Bisa. She has also been calling for the arrest of the Chitimukulu, alleging that he was masquerading as a chief but the Bemba traditional leader has dared government to arrest him. Dr. Simbyakula said government had slowly withdrawn police officers though there were still over 20 of them still positioned there. The Bemba royal establishment has refused to be intimidated by Sata and have maintained that Sosala was their Chief Chitimukulu whether government wants or not. They have further asked government to withdraw the chief’s subsidy if government so wishes.
