PIATTAFORMA ALTRIORIZZONTI WORKSHOP CON NORIKO KATO 28 - 31 ottobre Auditorium Centro Sociale Salerno Noriko Kato Independent Dance Artist, Founder of Dance-Tect Noriko KATO (Founder of Dance-tect and Independent Dance Artist) was born in North of Japan Hirosaki-shi Aomori. Studing dance since 7years old which Ballett, Modern, Jazz and Hiphop to Contemporary. While studying at Laban Centre London for Professional Diploma in Dance Studies in 1998-99, woking with a dancer for April Nurn (founder of Newness Dance) and presented own creation. Since then, Noriko has started to choreograph own pieces profesionaly; such as choreographed 50 Japanese dance students, 15 American young dancers, also own solo pieces. From 2003 to 2005 she has been to Cologne in Germany and establish as an independent dance artist, presented solo pieces Fragments of a Moment series (July/December, 2004). In order to develop choreographic works, Noriko puts importance for choreography in which the distance between self and movement is appearant. Which means in spite of thinking that you possess the body to dance, but once you start then you are keep losing control and reaching somewhere you haven’t recognized before. In December 2005 Noriko has been launched the dance unit Dance-tect. Noriko choreographed duet piece She sees…though… for it. In 2006 Noriko has been invited to ten weeks residential al’abordage ART Project touring Bangkok, Manila, Kyoto and Tokyo with 7 different countries member. After this project Noriko has realized that the more the world globalizes the more you realize boundaries; such as political situation between countries, historical back grounds and so on. Those experiences has made more Noriko into exploring new way of dance how we could interact as a human being / body whole beyond skin, preconception and history etc by facing the fact from authenticity. Since 2007 Dance-tect work become more for collecting independent artists by project internationaly. In 2008 Noriko has been in a Finnish dancer/choreographer Sari Palmgren’s documentary dance film project Connective Pattern. In 2009 she organezed Dance-tect performing event Ripples of Traces and Oblivion cosponsored by Aomori Contemporary Art Centre the piece which have set up outdoor water stage to perform. In 2010 Noriko organaized and present an event of Density of Blanks which is collaboration of Japanese traditional harp Koto with visula images and dance. In 2011 Noriko invited as a dancer for a project of Dance, photography and Music“Las Hojas Rojas" at Fylkingen and STOFF festival in Stockholm. Also Invited as an Guest Artstist and present a piece What is the Bond between „you“ and „me“ with dancers of Borderline Danza for I Dialoghi di ra.i.d. ressegna interegionale danza 対話 ITALIA/GIAPPONE at Chiesa dell’Addolotata, in Salerno, Italy. And the follong year 2012 she organized exchange/ collaborate performance event in Aomori and Tokyo with Borderline Danza from Italy.
