PIO DINAGAT ISLANDS: The Municipality of Cagdianao was awarded as “1st National Voluntary Blood Services Program MLGU Champion 2014” by the Provincial Health Office during the Interlocal Health Zone Convergence recently conducted at the Provincial Guest Center. The Municipality of Cagdianao received plaque, certificate, tokens, and cash worth P10,000. First and second runners up were the municipalities of Basilisa and Dinagat, repectively, who received P7,000 and P5,000. The search was conducted by the PHO in partnership with the Caraga Regional Hospital Blood Bank Team headed by Mr. Ferdinand Aliguay and Ms. Elsa Adlawan with the goal to promote voluntary blood donation in the community. Main basis of the search were the number of municipal blood donation activities, number of advocacy events, and number of blood donors. #
