PIRATE TAKEOVER COMPLETE JOLLY ROGER FLIES OVER THE MANITOBA - TopicsExpress

PIRATE TAKEOVER COMPLETE JOLLY ROGER FLIES OVER THE MANITOBA MUSEUM For the past few years, The Manitoba Museum has added an outdoor component every time it has opened a temporary exhibit. For Dinosaurs Unearthed, it was a life-sized animatronic T-rex; for Wrapped: The Mummy of Pesed, it was a two story sarcophagus, and now for Real Pirates, a 25 x 15 Jolly Roger is flying over the Museum as Pirates take over the building climbing on each side of the Museum Tower. Real Pirates: The Untold Story of the Whydah from Slave Ship to Pirate Ship explores the 18th century world of piracy, with more than 200 artifacts recovered from the ocean floor, off the coast of Cape Cod. The Whydah sank nearly 300 years ago, and the exhibit showcases the infamous pirate Sam Bellamy, who was reportedly the richest pirate of all time, and some of the millions of dollars in treasure that he plundered from over 50 ships. The Jolly Roger will fly for as long as Real Pirates remains at The Manitoba Museum. The exhibit is scheduled to close on April 19, 2015.
