As most of you know it is my life purpose to go abroad and volunteer and work in non profits! Well Im finally getting the opportunity and I need your help! Where you are willing to donate your money, I am willing to donate my time. Together we can change the world. According to the program I am going with, Cross Cultural Solutions, volunteers work in Moshi, a bustling town nestled in the shadow of Mount Kilimanjaro. During my time living and volunteering among the Chagga community - the local people of Moshi - I will work in a landscape full of waterfalls, coffee plantations, and banana fields. In Bagamoyo I will make personal connections and experience small-town life in a seaside community steeping in history and culture. Underneath the physical beauty of the country, Tanzanians face a variety of social obstacles. Most significant are a lack of resources, the residual effects of a colonial past, and the impact of HIV/AIDS. In Tanzania, I will work side-by-side with local communities as they work to address these pervasive issues and work toward a more economically independent and sustainable future. I will be assisting with the care of infants and children, improve education for the children, improve the quality of care for people with disabilities, and support those affected by HIV/ AIDS for 3 weeks in Tanzania.
