POEM OF THE DAY The Seven Veils Venus danced slowly like Salome, her face hidden by seven veils. She was the bride about to reveal her secret. She was nature uncovering vast wonders. The first veil is love for humanity. It is like a gentle rose the flower of our common destiny. The second veil is love of country. Like a butterfly it is uncaptive, unchained and free. The third veil is love of parents. Like a bear in a cave it is warm, comforting, safe. The fourth veil is love of siblings. Like the bird in flight it is joyous and sublime. The fifth veil is love of friends. Like sparkling wine it makes us happy down to the last drop. The sixth veil is romantic love. Like a mirror it is the reflection of all that is best in you. The seventh veil is true love. Like the eternal flame it never runs out of fuel. With the last veil Venus reveals her face and you realize your resemblance to her. These seven veils are layers of our soul and when you peel them off you finally understand That love is not frivolous like fluff it is your inheritance. Something you can not avoid, the signature of your heart, the ark of your spirit.
