POLICE MEDIA RELEASE: ________________________________________ Police are searching houses in the Hastings suburb of Whakatu after a man drove off from a house with a baby after a domestic incident. Police say a woman was assaulted by the man at a house in Pakowhai Rd just before 11am today. He drove off from the property with a young baby in a silver Honda Integra. Police found the car abandoned in nearby Whakatu a short while later. They are currently searching houses in the area for the man and the baby. No further information is available at this time. Updates will be provided when new information comes to hand.
