POLITICS Politics, you are an old game. You made Pilate to pass a death sentence on Jesus Christ, so that he can maintain his kingship authority. You made Herod to behead John the Baptist, so as to be a king of his words. Politics, you made hungry Esau to sell his birth right to Jacob in a mischievous manner. Politics, you made Goliath to die in a battle field, in his attempt to hold people captives. You made Pharaoh’s soldiers to drawn in the Red Sea as they run after the captives the lord took away from them. Politics, you kill, You squander money, You bring enemity between a son and his father, You also make a man and his brethren to become strangers in their own land, You destroy money, You caused two World Wars, and made Africa to become a continent that always fight for peace and freedom at all times. Politics, you killed Adolf Hitler of Germany, Gorge Washington and John Kennedy of America. You also killed Kwame Nkrumah of Ghana and kept most of our country men in the grave where they are today. Politics, you wickedly dealt with Idi Amin of Uganda and ridiculed him all over the world. You almost closed the family linage of Muammar Gadhafi of Libya and finally beat him to death like a criminal. Politics, you always cause war in different parts of the world, and made the Holy Spirit to run away from the church. Politics, you make governors to cry always. You made Biafria War survivors to walk home from far distances with no food and water. You pushed the refugees into the bush, you also pushed them out to the road; and finally pursed them to their homes. You act according to your name ‘Politics’. Politics, you are a ruler. The people you ruined to the grave have not come out of it, except Jesus Christ the son of God. The people you cut off one of their legs have now become one legged fugitives. The people you ruined down to the bed of sickness are still lying there hopelessly. The people you placed in the seat of power and judgement have no rest. The people you ruined into the prison, now realize that you are a sweet thing that kills. Politics, you rebuilds a city and also destroys it, You make peace to rain, and you also cause caterstrophy, You give wealth and also take it away. Politics, you are a terror! Believers are not supposed to be troubled by politics because God instructs us in 1 Peter 2: 17 “Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king”. If we can heed to that instruction, wherever politics takes us to, we shall worship God in truth and in spirit there, love our selves and also respect our leaders.
