POPE BASEBALL WINS BACK TO BACK DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIPS. April 21st- District Quarter Final- Pope Baseball defeats St. Andrews 8-0 Chris Graffeo allowed 1 hit and struck out 9 batters to earn the shutout victory. Josh Parker went 3 for 4, 2 rbis & Cale Brader went 2 for 3 with 1 rbi. April 22nd- Semifinals Pope Baseball Defeats American Heritage-Delray 2-0. This was a rematch of last years district championship which Pope Baseball also won 1-0. Pope defeated AH-Delray 2-0 behind the dominating pitching of Alex Bialakis. Alex allowed 1 hit & struck out 10 batters as Pope Baseball eliminated AH-Delray from post season play. Evan Schaffner & Christian Falgons had rbi hits for Pope. April 24th-Finals Pope Baseball defeated rival Cardinal Newman 5-4 to win our 2nd consecutive District Championship. This time in 4A Classification. Dan Mayer & Johnny Sheridan combined to hold down the Cardinal Newman offense. Josh Parker went 2 for 3 with a triple, 1 rbi. Cale Brader went 1 for 3 with 2 rbis. POPE BASEBALL WILL HOST THE REGIONAL QUARTER FINALS ON CAMPUS @ 4:00 ON THURSDAY, MAY 1st. VS CHAMINADE. PLEASE COME OUT AND SUPPORT OUR TEAM.
