POST SEASON POST MORTEM So another KU season is in the books. This one ended with a big thud. The easy thing to do is lay the loss on Andrew Wiggins. But the loss to Stanford really IS bigger than just one player. The Jayhawks flaws and weaknesses all came out in one very ugly afternoon. Just as they won as a team, they bowed out of the NCAA tournament as a team. The poor passing, ineffective rebounding, and inconsistent shot selection Kansas displayed wont win a lot of games. Especially against a good Stanford squad. As for Wiggins, keep in mind that he recently turned 19. He was in a glaring spotlight even before he announced he was coming to Kansas. Sooner or later, any 19-year-old is going to have an off game. Its a shame he wont be back in Lawrence next fall. Another year uner Bill Self and Wiggins would be a dominant force. But thats todays NCAA with the one and done option. Back in October, it was obvious that it was going to be a tough season with a very young team and the toughest schedule in Division I basketball. While the team made great strides, it doesnt seem to have ever come together quite the way Coach Self had hoped it would. The end of the journey is bittersweet. But the journey itself was great fun. It should always be remembered how lucky we are to have the quality teams and great coaching weve enjoyed for so many years. Twenty-five straight NCAA tournaments. No other team can say that. Ten straight Big Twelve championships. No other Big 12 team comes close. Still top five all time in many NCAA categories. There is MUCH to be proud of. But always be proud of the fact that we are Jayhawk fans...WE ARE KANSAS! Rock...Chalk...Jayhawk...KU!!!
