POSTBAG HIGH COST OF TALK TIME Editor, I wish to agree with Vice-President Dr Guy Scott’s comments that talk time in our country is the second highest priced in Africa. Of the three mobile service providers, perhaps only Zamtel may be said to be charging customer-oriented tariffs, especially its promotional costs such as Real Mahala tariff plan. I would suggest that the two regulatory bodies; Zambia Information Communication Technology Authority and Competition and Consumer Protection Commission should take appropriate measures to protect subscribers against further exploitation. They need to focus their attention mainly on reviewing the obtaining inhibitive across network tariffs. Over and above, there is need for a fourth mobile provider to come on board so that subscribers may have a wider choice. Mulongoti, Chingola
