So during my travels today I heard a song Ive heard many times before,...Blessings by Laura Story. It made me cry! Yes,...cry! Im a divorced male who was hurt, and hurt, in a marriage. Thats what can happen when God isnt first. However, when I reflect back, the greatest hurt and tragedy was ME letting someone control the man God himself created. Most of you know Im an emotional person, and I buried all those emotions for most of my marriage. I relied on someone else to tell me it was wrong or not manly to cry - when the reality is that SHE couldnt cried (happy or sad tears) and therefore took that out on me. Im one who will cry at a sappy movie, or cry at a joyful event, and instead of being stronger and teaching her to let herself feel - I feel. I know we cant change our past - but by golly Im surely going to enjoy my future ahead as the man God created. Embrace the emotions God gave you - yes even tears - because they could be the thing that helps guide you in the right direction. That thing that confirms deep within what God is telling you. See I didnt just lose my tears, I lost my happiness, joy, and my peace. By listening to someone else, your telling God you did it wrong. Trust me - He didnt!
