When he heard that his girlfriend Michelle van Wyk (30) was four months pregnant, France Seipone (30) looked forward to becoming a dad. But the couple’s dream of becoming parents was cut short when their shack caught fire in the early hours of Sunday morning. They were burnt to death. France’s sisters say for the past few months, the couple have been arguing a lot but they were deeply in love. A neighbour said they would fight over simple things but kiss and make up quickly. Elisa Thaisi (41) said her little brother had never been happier. Elisa said: “France was the only one of my siblings who didn’t have a child. “It worried him a lot and when he heard that her girlfriend was pregnant he was very excited.” Elisa said on the day the couple died, they were happy and didn’t argue for the first time in years. But the couple’s first day of harmony was their last! Their one-room shack in Donkerhoek kasi near Jacobsdal in the Free State was burnt to ashes when they were sleeping.
